the graphics-The first game is very pretty and all 2D, so it was the easiest on my eyes. But in hindsight, three negative aspects of the games always stood in the way of my speaking very highly (or very much at all) about them:ฤก. Obviously there were a lot of positives otherwise I wouldn't have kept buying and playing the games. I enjoyed myself well enough all along, and yet in the back of my mind I kept missing MoM and wishing for something better. And when Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic came along, I bought and played those too. Nevertheless, I made it all the way through the AoW campaign once, and I played all the scenarios. AoW turned out to be a good enough game, and it certainly looked better than MoM, but nostalgia (if nothing else) kept me thinking MoM was still the superior game. I remember buying Age of Wonders because it was advertised or talked about as the spiritual successor to Master of Magic-an old favorite that I hadn't been able to play, due to computer upgrades and ignorance of DOS emulators. Not all the time, but off and on, in occasional bursts. This one is kinda special, though, because I've played the earlier games in the series since the first one came out (in 1999, I think). I was going to wait till I could get it for pennies, but its price dropped enough that I finally bit, even though the last thing I need is another video game. I just finally got around to buying the Age of Wonders III Collection.
